About Carl Russo


The grey vole scurries toward our kitchen gardens' squash.
Cries of grosbeaks fill the small mountain ash.
A young brown hare chews on patches of fresh sweet clover.
Beyond an old locust tree--two screech owls sit patiently.
Tomorrow evening, a void may appear in this scenario.

Carl Russo founded the Florence Poets Society in 2004 with his friend and co-conspirator, Tom (Twilite) Clark. Carl was a great friend to poets and writers here in the Pioneer Valley of Western Massachusetts. We lost Carl on October 7, 2012 but his spirit and words live on.
