SILKWORM IS OPEN FOR SUBMISSIONS


Florence Poets Society announces that submissions to SILKWORM open FEBRUARY 1, 2026

Silkworm, the annual review of the Florence Poets Society, opens for submissions February 1, 2026 and will stay open until March 9, 2026 at 5:00pm. 

 

SUBMISSION GUIDELINES: 

 

Submissions open February 1, 2026 and will only be accepted through the Florence Poets Society Google submission form accessed from the Silkworm page (this page) via the link (below). Read the submission guidelines and then, when you are ready, click the link to begin the submission process.

General submission guidelines are listed below. The google form (only active during the submission period) will be the ONLY acceptable method of submitting a poem. 


  • Silkworm 19 has the theme of "BRIDGE."
  • Submissions are (only) possible via the google form using the (above) submission link.
  • There is no fee to make a submission. 
  • Members as well as non-members of Florence Poets Society are encouraged to submit. 
  • Submissions are welcome from around the globe.
  • Poets may submit up to three original poems, no longer than 50 lines each, in a single document. Only .doc and.docx formats will be accepted. 
  • Include a 30-word bio in the form not as part of the poem(s).
  • Poems will be read and, if accepted, published as submitted. Unfortunately, we cannot accept revisions to poems unless they reflect corrections to spelling, punctuation, or grammar. Silkworm editors reserve the right to copy edit submissions. 
  • If you have difficulty during the submission process or need to make a correction, please email silkwormpoetry@gmail.com for advice.


Florence Poetry Society claims first American publication rights with rights reverting to the author after the initial publication period. Please give us credit in future publications. Submissions that do not follow these (above) guidelines, e.g., any submissions sent by regular email, will not be read.

 

Submissions are open from February 1, 2026 until March 9, 2026. The absolute deadline for submissions is March 9, 2025 at 5:00 pm and the submission link and form will become inactive at that time. Accepted poets will receive one complimentary (contributors copy) of Silkworm 19: Bridge, and additional copies may be purchased.

Florence Poets Society is pleased to announce the release of 
Silkworm 15: Vision
 
Florence Poets Society is proud to announce that Silkworm 15: Vision is ready for prime time. We will hold our release party/reading live in the Lilly Library community room on Thurs Dec 8, 2022 at 7 pm. Contributors attending will be invited to read their poem and pick up their contributor copy of the book. Additional copies will be available for purchase. (Makes a great gift!)
